The campsite in Manderscheid is a tip from Cool-Camping, the camping guide for special campsites. The place is really awesome, basic but nice. The place comes off quite well in the ratings .

You are in the middle of the Volcanic Eifel, about 130 km from Cologne. You can make a reservation in advance, which works quite well. You can hike and of course cycle from here:

• Manderscheid-Gerolstein 61 km
• Großlittgen 30 km
• Daun 113 km
• Bitburg 92 km

And for hiking: The Lieserpfad is a highlight of the hiking trails in the Eifel and is now part of the Eifelsteig as stage 11 + 12. For the "hiking pope" Manuel Andrack, this is still the most beautiful hiking trail in the world.
