The campsite in Manderscheid is a tip from Cool-Camping, the camping guide for special campsites. The place is really awesome, basic but beautiful. The place comes off quite well in the reviews .

You are in the middle of the Volcanic Eifel, from Cologne it is about 130 km. You can reserve in advance, which works quite well. You can hike from here and of course cycle:

• Manderscheid-Gerolstein 61 km
• Großlittgen 30 km
• Daun 113 km
• Bitburg 92 km

And for hiking: The Lieserpfad is a highlight of the hiking trails in the Eifel and is now part of the Eifelsteig as stages 11 + 12. For the "hiking pope" Manuel Andrack, this is still the most beautiful hiking trail in the world.
